finally, two hurdles DOWN. one more to go-fri(interview).

shall share abt my dentistry manual dexterity test today. First, thank God i wasnt late. i thought i would be late since the test is at 2pm(quite early). hmmm. i guess somehow, i'm lucky because the dentists whom i was attached to during my attachment actually told me the stuff that i will be tested. BUT BUT, this is ONE PERFECT EXAMPLE how knowing the qns doesnt really mean you will do good.

ALL "STUNS" must be done using only with my hands, 1 "knife", 1 ruler, 1 pencil and pliers(used to bend and cut wires).

DURATION: 3hrs.

TASK 1- moulding a molar(your hind tooth) using plasticine.

i'm actually given a sample (waxed molar) to follow. ok. the difficulty comes when i'm making the shape/impression. what i mean is that i'm required to make the exact bite of the tooth- the top view of the tooth(this includes the weird yet unique pattern you see). the usual me- i panicked. i re-did the tooth 3 times until i'm completely satisfied with it. blame it on my character-perfectionist.

TASK 2- cutting a cube(2.3cm) from a cylinder clay. then another small cube(1cm) from the 2.3cm cube.

okay pinky. thanks for your advice. haha. you knew it long ago that i STILL cant draw straight lines. yes, i was extra careful when drawing those lines. hmm. everything is okay. just that the clay is real hard to be cut. clumsy me cut my finger. i was so scared LAR. at that pt of time, all i had in my mind was to get the tasks done. who cares abt my finger. so i just used a tissue to apply pressure(to stop the bleeding).

TASK 3- bending wires into some some shapes. we were given 2 wires to bend into 2 shapes. the first one shld look like a Z with its ends curled. the second one shld look like a swan. Requirements(according to what i think the markersare looking for.)- 1. must be lying flat on the table after bending. 2. must look exactly like the ones drawn on the qn paper.

haha. i like this the most. because while pple ard me had to use the pilers. i didnt have to. i just used my fingers. to me, somehow, this task is easy.

hmmm. i was strategically seated. at the back so i could see the stuff that other pple are doing- be it good or bad. HAHA- advantaged! woooot, but i really wana commend this girl seated just next to me(on my right.) she's super PRO. she's fast. she's talented lar. oh, there's babes too. year 3 dental students. they were in the lab too. or shld i say, i'm using her table!! haha.

2 hrs later, many started leaving. i didnt. i made full use of tt 3 hrs while my friend from mj was already done and waiting for me. haha. i took my own sweet time- to touch up the molar, the cube thing and last checks on my wires. i just wanted mine to look the best. my friend said my work pieces are very nice. hope they really are from the professor 's pt of view. but the test is really SCARY! i guess everyone is scared(because i saw them panicking too-with their hands shaking!! remb? i was strategically seated.). HAHA.

this is what i really want in my life- i hope i get it. i am really focusing on this. nthing else. i'm for real. are you supporting me too?

gotta prepare for m interview. heard that medicine interview is tough. the interviewers are fast and furious with their qns. haaa. i better get prepared. bring it on pple.
